Great view and even better deserts! Great place to visit near Munich. First we start with the amazing view, the food is very tasty and reasonably priced but then we come to the deserts - the home made cakes are story of their own.

There is simply the best cake - try it.

The cakes here are world class and probably nobody can beat the prices. I can only recommend it.

Make sure to stop by here if you are in the area. There are huge pieces of cake at great prices. Everything also to take away. So the cake fight is perfect. From the early afternoon, however, it gets full and waiting times are to be expected even when taking with you. Definitely to be recommended.

When you stand in line trying to respect people especially with Covid going on and the reservation lady just doesn't care and takes every other client before you. It's obviously a gold mine and they don't care to respect you. Big disappointment.

We sat upstairs, it's very cozy and nicely decorated. We were there in the evening. Very nice service and good food. We then took a cake home with us, which was also extremely tasty.

A really great café with a beautiful view! The name of the café says it all ... very winding building with lots of charm. We liked it here very much. The staff is friendly and we were served quickly. You don't have to wait long for the meal either. The portions are definitely sufficient, you will certainly be full here. The prices are reasonable. Coffee and cake fans will also get their money's worth here. Large pieces of cakes and tarts and a lot of choice! A dream! We would love to come back and can only recommend this café. A little tip: on sunny days or if the weather is nice, reserve a place in advance. There is definitely a lot going on here.

Usually pretty good. It is often full here, but the staff is hard-working. However, the service has deteriorated significantly recently. After half an hour I left without service / entertainment. If I ever long to be ignored for a long time and am neither hungry nor thirsty, then I'll come back.

After reading all the good reviews about this place, we went there for lunch (+ the cake) and we were not disappointed even a little bit. Not only the cake, but the main dishes were amazing as well! Definitely visit here if you are around. Our German is not the best, therefore the service staff spoke good English with us (which made the whole experience much better)

A real culinary delight! It's busy, which I can understand, but they are super organized and super friendly! The food was really great and the price was absolutely okay for the quality. We took some cake with us, which was absolutely amazing. Highly recommended 👍🏻

.... Pieces of cake under 300 g are biscuits! ... A sign on the cake counter greets you and the team from Café Winkelstüberl doesn't promise too much. I was there for the first time a good 20 years ago and have always been happy to come back when I'm around! Great, friendly staff, a smile is never too much ... even with so many guests! Keep it up!

Nice café with a very nice terrace and garden. Also very cozy inside, various small rooms as well as larger ones invite you to linger. Coffee grinders from earlier times line the shelves. More than 15 different cakes a day as well as sheet cakes, yeast pastries, cookies, strudel etc. make the heart beat faster and the choice is very difficult. There is also a breakfast, lunch, snack and evening menu.

Very tasty, large portions. You can't beat the price. Staff very friendly. Even when there is a lot going on, no long waiting time. Inside and outside seating area in the beer garden.

Well organized. Even though it was busy, I had the feeling that the employees had their job under control. Very friendly and quick! Coffee and cake were delicious and the prices fair. Will definitely come again.

Excellent location, great food, unbelievable view and all that within reach, even as a Munich resident. This restaurant is not so well known and popular with tourists and locals for nothing. Everything fits here and the world's largest coffee grinder collection is on top.

Wonderful mountain views, lots of nature, numerous cozy, shaded seats outdoors. There is a huge selection of cakes, large pieces of cake, fine coffee and hearty cuisine. But there is always a lot going on here. The friendly staff is very hard-working and doesn't keep guests waiting long. Cakes and pies can be taken away. In the Winklstüberl, too, there are plenty of comfortable seating options and nooks and crannies. Hence the name could come from.

The Café Winklstüberl is still one of the pastry shops because you can trust that you really master your craft and the cakes are 5 stars in appearance and taste. Our wedding cake was great and the price-performance ratio was right. In our test purchase, we only paid 12 euros for 4 giant pieces of cake, unbeatable for Munich. Please keep it up ...

Hats off for all employees, this time they were VERY attentive and followed all hygienic rules, everyone was wearing masks. The reservation worked wonderfully the day before our visit and we were immediately brought to the table. The food came to MEGA quickly and it was incredibly delicious. Unbeatable prices and wonderful large portions await all guests. We are always happy to come back !!!

Something is never changing? 5 stars reviews are only from employees? and their friends...? it is a joke. As in the past the dishes are good and simple, "Sahne" tasty cakes (but far from fantastic…). Anyhow the service is unacceptable, maybe they are too famous to serve the customer? Waiters and waitresses are terrible they make the service only for the chosen side. Other waiter stands showing the back 20 minutes there and does not look where you are sitting. 3-4 waiters were running up and done 2 other tables were occupied on the floor but only one employee came there to put extra lights (at 12 o’clock, outside total sunny but nothing else). Finally we found a child seat that at least we can be seated. After 30 minutes I asked after the waitress she felt herself offended and when she asked the other waitress discussion was about who serve which table and why they are not responsible for which table… And just from the nowhere came the waitress to ask from us the menu because it is needed for her colleague… top of the non-sense… but nothing else again disappeared everybody… ...after the other waitress told she will not make the service because it is not her table 45 - 60 minutes later finally arrived somebody (the 6th employee) who finally asked why we are sitting there and what we want... We ordered in one but the dish for the child was forgotten, again 20 minutes waiting… Anyhow the regular half hour – hour cigarette break was very punctual it was fantastic when the cigarette smoke came in the window and you can see you waitress but not your meal. Coffee should be something great but not, you can skip it without worries, glasses, cups, plates are damaged and broken… But they are happy to keep their hand for tip… It is just really disturbing when they do not want to work why the customer must be punished…?, Maybe people can be find who will be glad to have job…? Downstairs you can buy cake separately. The other chaos, the employee use a small stairs to step up for the higher selves to reach some cakes… would be no problem till she does not do with her gloves to fix the stairs which she use to fully touch the cakes… basically you get “to-go” all the dirt from her shoes with your cake… yeah… and of course you can wait till she serve all the waitress it does not matter that you are waiting there… Too much fame but not extraordinary. 100% sure you can find better place for you money. Only if you have enough patience and time for such kinds of employees or you are willing to pay for the fame of the family mythos of the owner... Recommendation to the owner: Restaurant without any waitress and waiters… self-service from kitchen, customer window… food conveyor belt...? Change the damaged cups and plates! And cleanliness, cleanliness, cleanliness…

Amazing variety of cakes!

Traditional German food - I had the Leberkäse which was great! Make sure to have some of their cake. They come in huge pieces and are insanely good.

Dropped in for their famous cakes and pies! Best apple strudel I've ever had! Real fresh cream! Real pie. Seriously you must give this place a try! Beautiful decor. I'll be back! Loved it!

This cafe is a must visit! It has a cosy ambiance, has a wide selection of cakes served in very large portions, and many other food options including delicious fish. The prices are average and the service is pretty friendly. It has it’s own charm in winters as well as summers. Highly recommended to everyone visiting the nearby Schliersee!

My expectations were really high for this place since it is very famous and people always say it is nice. In reality it did not feel that great. The place is huge and is usually quite crowded on weekends and holidays. There is enough parking for all and there is also an ATM next to it, which was great. The menu has a wide variety from lunch to dessert . We actually visited for the desserts. There is a big variety from traditional cakes and sweets many of them with Sahne. If you are a fun of them you will like it. But the taste for me was less than anticipated.

Huge slices of amazing cake for a great price. Fast and friendly service. Will definitely be going back.
